Football is a sport that is loved, played, and watched by millions (billions!) all around the globe. It brings us incredible moments of joy, heartbreak, and everything in between. But did you know that the game of football is also filled with the wonders of science — Physics, in particular? The Stargoal Project brings these two seemingly distinct concepts together to show how Physics plays a role in our everyday lives — even in the Beautiful Game. The project has been designed by a group of volunteers at Durham University and students from Years 5 & 6 at Catchgate Primary School, in association with Education Durham, Durham Women’s Football Club, and Dependable Productions.
